Because Teen Court is volunteer driven, it is vital that we have driven volunteers. A volunteer needs to be dependable, trustworthy, honest and ready to work.
- A youth must complete the initial interest form. This form needs to be turned in to your school sponsor or directly to the Wichita County Teen Court.
- All youth must participate in annual training held each September. September is National Youth Court Month, therefore the Wichita County Teen Court uses this time to introduce new volunteers to the program and the Wichita County Junior Bar Association.
- After having received the necessary training, youth are then asked to participate in a minimum of two activities each month. Youth may participate in only one court session a month, however they are required to attend the monthly Junior Bar Meetings held the third Tuesday of each month.
In the event of conflicts with extracurricular activities, the youth will be excused from attendance for a specified period of time.
